Know how long you’ve been talking.
While you still are.
realback is a macOS menu-bar instrument that shows your longest uninterrupted monologue while you are still speaking. Meeting tools tell you what happened after the call. This one tells you during it, while the call is still yours to change.
How it works
realback separates your microphone from the system audio — you on one channel, everyone else on the other — and derives speaking time from energy alone. A short “mhm” from the other side does not break your run. Two seconds of them actually speaking does.
Nothing joins your call. No bot appears in the participant list, and no screen-sharing indicator sits in your menu bar, because it reads audio at the system level rather than capturing your screen. It works the same in Zoom, Meet, Teams, a Slack huddle, or a phone call on speaker.
Not ready yet
realback is still being built and there is nothing to download today. If you want to know when there is, email us and we will tell you once.
